I know that unbelief would say he was only<strong>in</strong> a coma, or he had only stopped breath<strong>in</strong>g for a few m<strong>in</strong>utes,but say what you will, he was raised up.That miracle caused a stir <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir town, attract<strong>in</strong>g many peoplewho began to ga<strong>the</strong>r for prayer meet<strong>in</strong>gs. Before long, Mrs.Fentiman had three churches — one <strong>in</strong> Sutton, one <strong>in</strong> StantonHill and one <strong>in</strong> Huthwaite. God had really blessed this woman’sm<strong>in</strong>istry, and I was look<strong>in</strong>g forward to meet<strong>in</strong>g her.Marj was by <strong>the</strong> piano.When we arrived, we sat <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> front room, wait<strong>in</strong>g for <strong>the</strong> goodlady to come down, while several girls sang around <strong>the</strong> piano.That is where I first saw her, one of those girls, never dream<strong>in</strong>gthat one day, Marjorie would become my wife.Marj was born up <strong>the</strong> Yankzhe River <strong>in</strong> Ch<strong>in</strong>a. Her parents weremissionaries <strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>land Ch<strong>in</strong>a and she had spent almost ten years<strong>the</strong>re. Follow<strong>in</strong>g her mo<strong>the</strong>r’s death, her fa<strong>the</strong>r brought <strong>the</strong> familyto Mrs. Fentiman who pledged, “I’ll take your four children, ifthat will release you to go back to <strong>the</strong> mission field. If you areable to support <strong>the</strong>m, do so. If you are not, I’ll trust God.”Marj was, and still is, a very quiet and unassum<strong>in</strong>g person. It wasa casual meet<strong>in</strong>g for us. There was no <strong>in</strong>stant attraction of be<strong>in</strong>ghead-over-heels <strong>in</strong> love or anyth<strong>in</strong>g like that. I just saw this girland <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>rs, stand<strong>in</strong>g around <strong>the</strong> piano s<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g Gospel songs,and that was that.I started my first role as a pastor.At last, I met Mrs. Fentiman. Dur<strong>in</strong>g our visit, she suggested tome, “Look, <strong>Arthur</strong>, until you know what God requires of yourlife, why don’t you take over <strong>the</strong> work <strong>in</strong> Huthwaite?
