Instead, we would call for theelders, get anointed and God would heal us. Many of the oldPento’s had problems with the law and were imprisoned, becausethe authorities judged they were wrong to force this wayof living upon their children.People opposed to trusting in divine healing would argue againstour position. They would commonly ask, “What if, after you callthe elders, the Lord doesn’t meet you? What do you do then?”“Die!” was my answer.139
