The Lich Gate, nowremoved was originally positioned in the middle. For convenienceit has been assumed that McIntyre Road is aligned east – west.Near ong>andong> Far are used to denote distance from the Lich Gate.There are eight main divisions:The plot numbers are generally read like a page, i.e. left to rightong>andong> continued on the line below. The top of each page is usuallynorth; therefore the numbers increase towards the south west.Additional plots that have been inserted have been prefixedwith ‘a’. Aperture cards 80 – 81This is the far north west division. This is the first area to be used. Aperture cards 82 – 83This is the near north west division (The curved paths are difficultto trace.) Aperture cards 84 – 85This is the south west division adjacent to the railway line. Aperture cards 86 – 87This is the near south east division.21
