25.Please furnish the annual accounts pertaining to the year 2008-09, 2009-10 for the following temples:Srirangam, Tiruvannamalai, Rameswaram, Tiruchendur,Madurai, Samayapuram.6, i) Please furnish a list of District wises notified festivals inTamilnadu.ii) If there is any other local festivals in Districts which arenot covered in the list but attracting larage member of devoteesto that temple town, such details may be furnished.7. Please furnish the data on floating population on normal days<strong>and</strong> festive occasions in major temple cities like Madurai,Rameswaram, Thanjavur, Tiruttani, Tiruchendur,Tiruvannamalai, Kancheepuram, Palani, Tiruvarur,Tirunelveli, Samayapuram, Srirangam, etc.8. It is well known that the basic amenities for the pilgrims suchas cottages, cloak rooms, electrification, footwear safety areprovided either free or at a nominal cost by HR&CE in thetemple assets in <strong>and</strong> around the temple premises.Whether civic amenities such as drinking water, publictoilets, sanitation, etc. are done by your Dept. in areas otherthan temple premises?9. i) Does your <strong>Department</strong> collect entry toll from vehiclesentering the town where temple are situated? If so, the rates oftoll, the overall annual income from this source in all templesunder HR&CE may be furnished.ii) Details on local bodies in temple town which collect <strong>and</strong>retain tolls on vehicles may also be furnish.10. In temple cities, during normal days, the civic amenities suchas roads, street lighting, drinking water supply, public toilets,garbage clearance, storm water draining, etc. are done by theconcerned local bodies. During festive occasions, the floatingpopulations of pilgrims need more civic facilities in thecities/town/villages where temples are situated. Such needsare being met by the local bodies.i) Whether the capital <strong>and</strong> maintenance expenditure incurredby local bodies in temple town during notified festivals areshared by HR&CE Dept.? If so, the percentage of sharing,procedure in reimbursement, conditions if any forreimbursement ,time taken for reimbursement <strong>and</strong> issues if anymay be furnished.


3ii) Is there any other financial assistance offeredto local bodies in temple areas by HR&CEDept.?11. Any other issue to be highlighted before theCommission.
