The most remarkable find was a pearlborderedfritillary butterfly. This is one of the county’s rarestspecies and only known from a handful of sites inSussex. The nearest known colonies of this butterfly areover 7 miles away. Where had this lone wanderer comefrom? It’s the first time this butterfly has been seen in theparish in many decades.
