Administr<strong>at</strong>ive sites areexcluded from this policy<strong>Policy</strong>In accordance with UB's Undergradu<strong>at</strong>e policy regarding Incomplete Grades, courses will remainavailable to instructors on the <strong>UBlearns</strong> system for a maximum period of 12 months after thesemester ends. Course sites reaching the 12 month threshold will be autom<strong>at</strong>ically removed from thesystem based on the following timetable:The autom<strong>at</strong>ic removal period will be scheduled and announced to <strong>UBlearns</strong> instructors in advance.Instructors who require access to course content scheduled for removal should refer to End ofSemester Procedures in <strong>UBlearns</strong>.BACKGROUND<strong>UBlearns</strong> is a dynamic and growing course management tool th<strong>at</strong> delivers course content and fosterslearning in a real-time on-line environment. Our goal is to keep <strong>UBlearns</strong> stable and equipped forgrowth. Removing old course d<strong>at</strong>a on the system helps meet th<strong>at</strong> goal and makes space for newcourses th<strong>at</strong> demand increasingly complex and d<strong>at</strong>a-rich content.APPLICABILITYThis policy applies only to non-administr<strong>at</strong>ive courses in <strong>UBlearns</strong>. Administr<strong>at</strong>ive Sites will bereviewed on a yearly basis or removed <strong>at</strong> the owners’ request.DEFINITIONS<strong>UBlearns</strong> - <strong>UBlearns</strong> is a course management system and the <strong>University</strong> <strong>at</strong> <strong>Buffalo</strong>’s instance ofBlackboard accessible <strong>at</strong> ublearns.buffalo.eduCourse - classes offered by registr<strong>at</strong>ion number and available for instructor inclusion on<strong>UBlearns</strong> using the <strong>UBlearns</strong> course setup toolAdministr<strong>at</strong>ive Site - courses sites added to <strong>UBlearns</strong> for departmental or administr<strong>at</strong>ive useth<strong>at</strong> are not affili<strong>at</strong>ed with classes offered by registr<strong>at</strong>ion number.RESPONSIBILITY
