<strong>Pre</strong>-<strong>Registration</strong> for the <strong>Spring</strong> <strong>Semester</strong> <strong>2014</strong>—Main Campus Undergraduates OnlyClass schedules will be available on-line rather than as hardcopy booklets and may beaccessed as .pdf documents by Friday, October 25, 2013 on the <strong>Campbell</strong> <strong>University</strong>Website at: www.campbell.edu/preregistration. Once the .pdf document has been placedon the Website any changes in the schedule will necessitate the posting of a new .pdfcopy of the schedule. Please refer to the Website frequently.<strong>Pre</strong>-registration for the spring semester <strong>2014</strong> begins on Saturday, October 26 and extendsthrough Tuesday, December 3. <strong>Pre</strong>-registration may be accomplished in two ways: (1)those who qualify may pre-register on-line through their Web Access accounts or (2)through the academic adviser in the traditional manner. In any case, students must meetwith an adviser to register for ADVS-100—a non-credit course that can only be added byan adviser thereby assuring that all students have counseled with an adviser during theregistration process.Opening the system on Saturday, October 26 allows students within the first prioritygrouping or window who may encounter problems either with the computer system orwith their course selections to schedule appointments with their advisers while still takingadvantage of their registration priority. Adviser-assisted pre-registration does not beginuntil Monday, October 28.<strong>Registration</strong> priority groupings or windows are set for the following categories andstudent groups: Saturday, October 26 – Tuesday, December 3, <strong>2014</strong>.SATURDAY, OCT. 26- FRIDAY, NOV. 1—Students with 97+ *completed hours, athletes,cheer leaders, pep band members, Honors Program students and Teaching Fellows will registereither on-line (if they meet the conditions for on-line registration) or with their faculty advisers. Selfregistrationaccess will be denied for these students at the close of this window of opportunity. It willremain open for advisers to make schedule adjustments or corrections.SATURDAY. NOV. 2-FRIDAY, NOV. 8—Students with 80 to 96.9 hours *completed mayregister on-line through their WebAccess (if they meet the conditions for on-line registration) or withtheir advisers. Self-registration access will be denied for these students at the close of this window ofopportunity. It will remain open for advisers to make schedule adjustments or corrections.SATURDAY, NOV. 9-FRIDAY, NOV. 15—Students with 48 to 79.9 *completed hours mayregister on-line through their WebAccess (if they meet the conditions for on-line registration) or withtheir advisers. Self-registration access will be denied for these students at the close of this window ofopportunity. It will remain open for advisers to make schedule adjustments or corrections.SATURDAY, NOV. 16-FRIDAY, NOV. 22—Students with 12 to 47.9 *completed hours mayregister on-line through their WebAccess (if they meet the conditions for on-line registration) or withtheir advisers. Self-registration access will be denied for these students at the close of this window ofopportunity. It will remain open for advisers to make schedule adjustments or corrections.SATURDAY, NOV. 23-TUESDAY, DEC. 3—Students with fewer than 12 *completed hoursmust register through their advisers during this window of opportunity. The system will remainopen for advisers to make schedule adjustments or corrections.*completed hours DO NOT include registered hours in progress.


NOTE: The system will remain open to advisers until Tuesday, January 7 at 4:30 PM when they willbe closed to run class rosters.To qualify for on-line registration:To be eligible for on-line registration, students must have completed a minimumof 12 semester hours with an overall ‘C’ average (2.000) or better. Students with gradepoint averages below 2.000 or who have completed fewer than 12 semester hours mustregister during their priority time by appointment with their academic advisers.Things to do prior to pre-registering:1. Read the <strong>University</strong> Bulletin in effect at the time you entered <strong>Campbell</strong><strong>University</strong> and understand that you are responsible for its contents relative toyour major and degree requirements. Current as well as archived bulletinsmay be accessed on the Website at: www.campbell.edu/catalog. Earlierbulletins may be accessed through www.campbell.edu/catalog/past-coursecatalogs.2. Run a Program Evaluation/Degree Audit through your WebAccess, observingrequirements and making sure that any exceptions, exclusions, or waivers thathave been granted by an appropriate dean have been posted.3. Make sure that you have no “hold” flags that will prevent you from preregisteringon-line or through you adviser. Hold flags typically blocking astudent’s registration include: AR—Financial, ADM—Admissions, SA—Honor Code, PC—Provisional Students, LOW—grade point average toolow to qualify for on-line registration, and RT—Retention. Students loggingonto their WebAccess accounts will be able to see if they have hold flags; thetelephone number of the office responsible for placing and removing the flagswill also be provided. There are other acronyms in the “hold” fieldswhich will not affect pre-registration. Those are ONR, EREF, and BOAP.Please note that ONR is a hold flag that prevents students from registering “online”until they are eligible to do so under the rules for on-line registration. It isautomatically removed when a student becomes eligible and is reinstated whenthe student’s “window of opportunity” closes. Advisers can override an ONRhold.4. Secure an appointment time with your adviser during your registration prioritytime to review your on-line pre-registration or to pre-register you. Theadviser will also add ADVS-100 to the schedule to verify that you have seenan adviser.How to Register On-Line:

A green barat the bottom of the demonstration permits students to pause, rewind, or fast-forwardthrough the demonstration. Cumulative: Students may take no more than 49% of the semester credit hours forthe degree online. This means that for the associate degree requiring 62 semesterhours, no more than 30 semester hours can be completed online. For the bachelor‘sdegree requiring 124 semester hours, no more than 60 semester hours can becompleted online. These limits of 30 and 60 are the maximum allowable hours ofonline courses, taking into account core curriculum and majors hours combined.2. Core Curriculum: A full range of general education core courses may be madeavailable and taken through online courses, as long as the maximum allowance of49% for each student degree is not violated.3. Transfer Students: Regardless of the number of hours accepted in transfer, studentswill not be allowed to complete through online more than 49% of their semesterhours taken with <strong>Campbell</strong>.


4. Main Campus Students: Main campus students wishing to take online courses mustfirst complete an Approval to Take <strong>Campbell</strong> <strong>University</strong> Online Courses form whichrequires signatures from the student’s adviser and the Department Chair for thecourse discipline, and then present the form to the Department of Online Educationoffice on 79 Bolton Rd. to be registered for a course. These forms may be obtainedon the Extended Programs website under Academics at www.campbell.edu.5. Exception for Online Students: Students pursuing a fully online degree are notrestricted by the above policies.Confirming <strong>Registration</strong>:Once you have preregistered, you will be considered registered and no furtherconfirmation will be necessary. However, should you decide that you will not attend anyof the terms for which you are registered, you should notify the Registrar’s Office so thatwe can cancel your schedule and void your tuition charges.
