YARD REPORTOyster 100 by DuboisDeck SaloonThe Oyster 100 by Dubois is designed with the specification, features andclassification of very much larger yachts - and provides a sophisticated entryinto superyacht ownership.By contrast, other 100 foot alternatives are simply longer versions of their60 – 70 foot counterparts. They are built in the same way, are usually ofa light displacement and structure, and can give a ride to match – livelywith poor load carrying capabilities and little internal volume.Compare their displacement figures with the Oyster 100, which offerssignificantly more internal volume, comfort and stability.Comparing the worked materials used in construction reveals asecond intersting statistic. Worked materials are loosely defined asstructural items that are in some way crafted by specialists suchas the hull and deck, interior joinery, engine, generators, indeed, anything that has to be crafted or built rather than just deadweight like the keel. The Oyster 100 by Dubois is a small ship by comparison! The standard accommodation layout offers three stateroomsaft and two crew cabins forward. The two family/gueststaterooms have two large single beds which are fitted onslide rails which can be pushed together to form a largedouble bed. A third fold down bed is also available.A raised saloon offers a panoramic view and leadsforward and down to a more intimate lounge andseparate dining area. Forward of the main living area isthe crew mess, galley and two crew cabins.178 | Floating ASSET - September/October 2013September/October 2013 - Floating ASSET | 179

This outstanding record-breaking Oyster is apowerful performance cruising yacht and the largest Oysterafloat.Ed Dubois, Naval Architect for the Oyster Superyachts, said:"We believe that everyone who boards this yachtwill be struck by the sense of space, given that she is a125 foot sloop (38 metres). It was always the intention tomaximise the usable space while still retaining a first-classsailing hull form that will be both stiff and sea kindly. Theexperienced Oyster team in collaboration with RMK, hasproduced a first class yacht. They are to be congratulated."Oyster YachtsFox's MarinaIpswichSuffolkIP2 8SASwitchboard UK: 01473 688 888Switchboard International: +44 1473 688 888New Yacht Sales: +44 1473 695 005Customer Service and Support: +44 1473 690 198Brokerage: +44 1473 695 100Fax: +44 1473 686 861188 | Floating ASSET - September/October 2013September/October 2013 - Floating ASSET | 189
