This work is very good and provided a great amount of detail on the period leading up to the fighting. It provides good information on Davoutrs strategic insight and his relationship with Napoleon. The thesis of the book deals with the entire 1809 campaign and as such proves of little value when analyzing Davoutfs tactical capabilities.
