RESULTSA total <strong>of</strong> 903 eligible adult patients received an elective groin hernia repair in the studyperiod. The questionnaire was returned by 706 individuals (response rate 78.2%).Ninety-three percent <strong>of</strong> the patients was male and the mean age was 60 ± 14 yr.
