Since then he hasheld a number <strong>of</strong> non-executive company directorships <strong>and</strong> trusteeships <strong>of</strong> various pensionschemes. He was a member <strong>of</strong> the Implementation Advisory Group on the establishment <strong>of</strong> aSingle Regulatory Authority for the Financial Services Sector which reported to Government inMay 1999.Dr. Gerardine DoyleDr. Doyle’s research interests are in the area <strong>of</strong> health care accounting <strong>and</strong> management <strong>and</strong> shehas researched/examined modern costing technologies in the health sector internationally. Sheis also involved in an EU Training <strong>and</strong> Mobility Network (Accounting <strong>and</strong> Management in theReform <strong>of</strong> European <strong>Health</strong> Care Systems) as the ‘scientist in charge’ <strong>of</strong> the Irish team <strong>and</strong> amember <strong>of</strong> the management committee <strong>of</strong> the network since its commencement in 1998. Thework <strong>of</strong> Dr. Doyle on our behalf both assisted <strong>and</strong> informed us in reaching our proposals forthe reform <strong>of</strong> systems in the Irish health service.151
