Died August 2,1933.Special course in Journalism at <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong> <strong>Illinois</strong>. He was editor <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>Ravenswood Citizen from 1903 to 1922. Editor <strong>of</strong> National Printer Journalist andassociate editor <strong>of</strong> Federal Doings, a magazine <strong>of</strong> government employees in <strong>the</strong> Chicagoarea. Active in community affairs <strong>of</strong> every description for over thirty years. Secretary<strong>of</strong> Ravenswood Improvement Association, Inc. for 20 years. He was a special deputycollector <strong>of</strong> internal revenue from 1921 until his untimely death, for two years vicepresident <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> National Editorial Association. Married Litta L. Sill, 1915. Threechildren.Fred M. Rolens—Born December 6, 18 80, near Murphysboro, <strong>Illinois</strong>.Educated in common schools <strong>of</strong> Murphysboro. Started in <strong>newspaper</strong> work as devilfor J. J. Penny, publisher <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Murphysboro Daily Independent. Was made businessmanager <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Independent in 1906. The paper at that time was owned by Jos. B. Gilland John M. Herbert. Bought <strong>the</strong> paper in 1912 and continued as its owner until 1926.Removed to California. Purchased <strong>the</strong> foothill Review in South Pasadena in 1929. Wasmember <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Executive committee <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sou<strong>the</strong>rn <strong>Illinois</strong> Editorial Association and<strong>Illinois</strong> Press Association for a number <strong>of</strong> years. Married. Four sons and one daughter.Mas;n.John H. Harrison—Born Nov. 30, 1867, Lebanon, Ind. Died at Miami Beach,Florida, March 2, 1930.Graduate <strong>of</strong> DePauw University, from which he also received his M.A. degree. Began<strong>newspaper</strong> work as printer's devil on fa<strong>the</strong>r's paper. Editor <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Danville Commercial-News, until his death. Married Lucille Brian Gilmore, 1928. No children. Mason. Elks.Methodist.Albert H. Gravenhorst—Born Jan. 31, 1883, at Effingham.Graduate <strong>of</strong> Austin College. Entered <strong>newspaper</strong> business in 1902 at Erfingham asdevil. At present is owner and editor <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Effingham Countv Review. Member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>Chamber <strong>of</strong> Commerce. Former President <strong>of</strong> Pontiac Reformatory Board. Rotarian.Married Juanita Naegelin, 14 16.
