Agriculture.The Review Atlas is a consolidation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> old Review, establishedin 185 5, and <strong>the</strong> Atlas, founded 1846. The Review wasfounded by Alexander Hamilton Swain as a Democratic paper.Hugh R. M<strong>of</strong>fet became associated with Mr. Swain in 1883, succeedinghim as editor in 1886. The Atlas, established by C. K. Smith& Company, was Republican in politics. In 18 57 it was purchasedby John S. Clark, who with his son, Sam S. Clark, were its publishersuntil <strong>the</strong> early eighties. Since that time it has had variousowners and editors until <strong>the</strong> consolidation. The Review Atlas ispublished daily with <strong>the</strong> exception <strong>of</strong> Sunday, and is Independentin politics.
