The KeithsburgTimes was established in 1884 at Keithsburg by J. C. Mitchell.D. N. Blazer purchased a half interest from Mr. Mitchell in 1890.The Keithsburg Times was moved to Aledo andpublished under <strong>the</strong> name, The Times. In 1894<strong>the</strong> publisher <strong>of</strong> The Times bought <strong>the</strong> AledoRecord from Porter & Sons and <strong>the</strong> paper <strong>the</strong>ntook its present name. The Times Record. TheTimes Record purchased January 1, 192 8, <strong>the</strong>Aledo Democrat which had been established byDavid N. Blazer John Geiger in 1880. The Times Record standshigh in weekly circles.
