Complete Streets Poster Winners Honored Congratulations are extended to the following QWE students who participated in the “Complete Streets” Poster contest sponsored by the City of Deerfield Beach Planning & Zoning Division. The posters were to depict streets to make them safer and more inviting for pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit users. The students were asked: “When you think of a street that you enjoy walking or riding your bike on, what does it look like?” The City of Deerfield Beach displayed all of the posters at City Hall for the week of January 7 th -­‐ <strong>11</strong> th and they were open to the public for voting. The Mayor presented certificates of appreciation to all the students that participated and 1 st place ribbons to one poster from each grade at the City Commission meeting on January 15 th . All the posters were displayed at the Festival of the Arts from January 25th-­‐27 th . FAMILY COUNSELINGThe Crystal Lake Family Counseling Center has appointments available day and evening with licensed therapists for your child and family. All services are free and confidential. The Deerfield Beach High <strong>School</strong> Family Counseling Program is a free counseling program open to any family with children enrolled in school. The family counseling program has both day and evening hours and is staffed by licensed Mental Health professionals. Services are confidential and do not become part of the student’s cumulative file. This new system, known asSTAR, offers many advantages, includingimmediate sexual offenders and predatorsbackground checks. It also provides electronictracking of students arriving late and/or leavingearly, on-line volunteer registration, and othergreat features that will help us increase bothschool safety and the involvement of the wholecommunity in helping our students.As a valued member of our school family, we askthat you report to the front office whenever youvisit our campus for any reason.
