Let them be signs to marknewtoApple Chicothe seasons, days, and years.WARNING:When you shift into a newseason, people who are stuckwill become haters. Becausethey will be jealous. They don’twant others to remind them thatthey are stuck. And so they willhate you, not understand you…Learn from other shifterswho know how to shift when anew season enters their life.RELATIONSHIPIn your relationships, haveyou noticed that the person youare related to has shifted intoanother season? Maybe you’reserving his needs that are nolonger there—and so there’s astrain. Example: When parentsare dealing with teenagers, they need to shift with theseason that their loved ones aregoing through…CREATIVITYGod has given you thepower to shift. He gave youCREATIVITY to respond toyour new season. Becauseyou’re a co-creator with God.You’re like Joseph (Genesis39). No matter what happens,if life throws you in the pit, youclimb out. If life throws you inprison, you walk out. Unlessyour methods change, you’lllose your business, your job, your wife, your children…Once upon a time, wepreached God’s Word throughprinted magazines—and weToday, I receive all of God’slove for me. Today, I openmyself to the unbounded, limitless, overflowingabundance of God’s universe.Today, I open myself to God’sblessings, healing, and miracles.Today, I open myself to God’sWord so I would become morelike Jesus every day. Today,I proclaim that I am God’sbeloved, I am God’s servant, Iam God’s powerful champion. And because I am blessed, I amblessing the world. In Jesus’name. Amen.were doing a fantastic job withit. Imagine if I just stuck to theprint media and didn’t shift tothe Internet when the DigitalAge began.HUMILITYTo shift, you need tounlearn what you learned in theprevious season. You need tolearn new methods, new rules, new principles.FRIENDSWhen you shift into anew season, usually, you alsohave to shift into a new circleof friends. I’m not saying youabandon your old friends. I’mjust saying that you’ve got toadd new friends to your circle. If you’re the wisest person inyour circle of friends, it’s timeto look for another circle—notleaving that old one (becauseyou can’t anyway) but look forothers who will feed you, inspireyou, nourish you.My Reflections_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

That’s who we are.We have so much to celebrate about ourselves, so much tobe proud of, so much to thank God for.Remember our most beloved President Cory Aquino’sheartwarming, affirming, yet challenging statement before shefinally got her eternal reward in heaven?Thank You, God…I Am a Filipino!“I thank God, He mademe a Filipino.”Today, we sum upanother life-changing andidentity-lifting talk series onthe Filipino. We proclaim thatultimately our best trait as apeople, as a race, as a nation,is our belief in God.We Filipinospassionately love andserve God. CONNECT GROUPSLAST YEAR, I felt my life was wasted. Iwasn’t going to church anymore because Ididn’t feel like it. Liquor was my mouthwashin the morning and a liquor bottle was thelast thing I held on to at night, before Ifell asleep.I lost my job and we had a financialcrisis in the family. And my family fellapart when the mother of my son and I wentseparate ways. All these happened in one year.I was so desperate, I found my wayto the church where I used to serve as anacolyte. I knelt and prayed, “Lord, I giveeverything to You. Ikaw na po ang bahalasa ‘kin. Thank You for always taking careof me.”And then a miracle. I received a callfrom a company in Manila, giving me a job.And not just a job. It was my dream job!So I accepted the offer and moved toManila. It was my first time to live in the bigcity. I felt alone, pining for my family. Then one day, while shopping in amall, I bumped into an aunt and her husband. We hadn’t been in touch for a while, sowe chatted, making up for lost time. I toldthem what had happened to me and, I guess, sensing my loneliness, they introduced to methe Feast and invited me to attend.Longing for something to fill up theemptiness in me, I started attending theFeast. And whaaam! There, I’d never feltcloser to God.Now, I start and end my day with aprayer. I read the Bible and the Didache, thedaily Bible reflections for Catholics foundedby Bro. Bo Sanchez. I read Love SomeoneToday, his one-on-one discipleship booklet, where Bro. Bo echoed a key principle aboutjoyful and abundant living: “Just do yourbest and God will do the rest and give youthe best.”The booklet taught me to love myfellowmen because I learned how to lovemyself through loving God.I heard the Feast talks, I read Bro. Bo’steachings. But still I was alone. I needed tolove and feel loved. And I found not just one,but a group of persons who embraced me:my Connect Group. If the Feast is my spiritualfamily, then my CGmates aremy spiritual brothers. We meetevery Sunday. We discuss theFeast teachings and how theyapply in our daily grind.ATTENTION CONNECT GROUP HEADS!BRO. BO SANCHEZ shareshis concern for the victimsof Typhoon Maring, and askseveryone to pray for the victims. He calls on you to check ifanyoneamongyourmembers hasbeen affected by therecent calamity. He encourages theConnect Groups to visit homesthat were flooded and, in the bestJames Morrisonway they can, help the victims torecover from the disaster.6 THE FEAST September 1, 2013ENJOYING LUNCH, clockwise from left: Melvin Guzman, Tony Sanchez, Ralph Abad, Dion Arbolado Jr,Albert Mateo, Laurence Magsanoc, Jake Zabala, Joram Torreon, Kent Suelo, and AC Buenagua.Sharing Meals… and ConcernsBy MELVIN GUZMAN as told to BETHANY DECHAVEZAt first, I was hesitant to share myproblems and struggles with my group, but eventually, I began to share my deeperconcerns as I felt that my CGmates wereleading me to the right path.We laugh together. We growtogether as individuals and as servantsof God. We also mentor each other onhow to handle life in a godly way. I canshare with them my biggest problemsand my deepest secrets. Aside from myfamily, they are my reasons for being happy.I compare my experience at the Feastto a hammer, myself to a wood, and my faithto a nail. You cannot insert the nail into thewood in a single strike. You need to strike thenail many times so that it will sink in. In thesame way, I learn best when the lessons aredrummed into my ears, ingrained intomy memory, and thus engulfing mybeing -- by attending the Feast consistentlyand meeting with my CG regularly. When something makes me happy,I feel my CGmates are happier becauseI’m happy. And when I’m sad, I perk upduring our Sunday meetings. With theirLast Sunday,Bro. Jill Ramiscal,Light of Jesus Financehead, announced thata portion of the FeastLove Offering wouldbe donated to victims ofTyphoon Maring. Please let usknow who among yourCG members maystill be in dire needof assistance. Thanks and God bless.Your FEAST PICC CouncilApple Chicohelp and prayers, I am ready to battle on anew week.Attending the Feast and being witha Connect Group have really helped mein facing my trials as a Christian. I mayhave been a broken Christian before, butnow I am a better Christian and I’m hopingthat tomorrow, I’ll be a better servantof God.My CG also brings mecloser to God because I amsurrounded by faithful warriorsof God. My weaknesses havebecome my strength as Iallowed others to help me.I cannot enumerate all theways that my CGmate s havebrought me closer to God, butwith them, I’ve learned to laughas they remind me that God isalways here beside me.The Feast has contributed a lot tomy faith today because it serves as a roadsign that guides me in all the detours ofmy life. For details call: 09192524428
