Oidhreacht Chorca DhuibhneOidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne organised a review scheme in Corca DhuibhneCommunity School at the beginning of <strong>2009</strong> in co-operation with the poetBríd Ní Mhóráin. As a result of the scheme a review competition was heldand Foras na Gaeilge provided funding for this competition.Foras na Gaeilge / ACIS Research Book of the YearFunding was provided for the Foras na Gaeilge / ACIS Research Book of theYear prize which was run by the American Congress for Irish Studies. <strong>The</strong>prize was presented at the ACIS convention in the National University ofIreland, Galway. <strong>The</strong> prize was won by An Damer: Stair Amharclainne byMairéad Ní Chinnéide, published by Gael Linn.ClubLeabhar.comFunding was provided to Gaelchultúr this year to set up an online book club.<strong>The</strong> aim of the site is to encourage Irish speakers in Ireland and abroad toread books and discuss them in the site’s forum. One book each month willbe selected for discussion on the forum. <strong>The</strong> Arts Council is also providingfunding for clubleabhar.com.Sponsorship was also provided for the radio programme SPLANC! <strong>The</strong> bookof the month is discussed on this programme once a month.International DistributionFunding was provided for Foilsiú Éireann (Publishing Ireland) this year tocarry out research on different possibilities in respect of distributing Irishlanguage books internationally. Based on this, Foilsiú Éireann intends towork with Irish language publishers on the ONIX system.
