An updated edition is beingundertaken.<strong>The</strong> Microsoft ProjectA stylesheet, terminology glossaries and PoliCheck were prepared for theMicrosoft company’s current localised project Windows 7 and Office 7.<strong>The</strong> IATE ProjectThis is a project run by FIONTAR on contract from the Department of Arts,Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Committee was asked to carry out aquality assurance on each new term. Research was carried out on more than2,000 concepts for this project and the Committee approved 2,336 Irishterms.EAFT (European Association for Terminology)<strong>The</strong> Secretary was operating as President of this association up to February<strong>2009</strong>. As a representative of the EAFT she gave talks at seminars in France,Portugal and Slovenia during <strong>2009</strong>.ISO/TC37<strong>The</strong> Secretary attended meetings of TC37 (an ISO technical committee inrespect of terminology standards) and functioned as a representative of theChairperson of Sub-Committee 1 of TC37 when the meetings of the Subcommitteewere in Bogota in August. She completed the editorial work onISO 704 (Terminology Work – Principles and Methods) which ISO willpublish in 2010.
