Micheál Ó Mainnín, Aogán, Úna and Méabh Nic Ghuidhir, Cillian Ó Briain,Bríd Donnelly, Sláine Ní Chathalláin, Seosamh Ó Críodáin, Eoin ÓDuigneáin, Áine Uí Laoithe, Jeremy Spenser, Seán Ó Laoithe, Eithne NíChatháin, Pádraig, Michelle, Ógí, Doireann, Ciara and Tomás Ó Sé.Between the two 'Cafe' series Scéal Eile Teo. did another series – tenprogrammes based on the Leaving Certificate poetry course. <strong>The</strong> series wasbroadcast twice on Raidió na Life and as a result of the positive feedback, anapplication has been submitted to the Irish Broadcasting Authority forfunding for a new series based on the prose syllabus.Among the other projects which were funded in <strong>2009</strong> were:<strong>The</strong> Living Library, Áras Éanna, Armagh Pipers Club, Baffle Poetry Group,Peoples’ Republic Club, Art on an Island, <strong>The</strong> Ó Cadhain Lecture, <strong>The</strong>Colmcille Lectures and <strong>The</strong> Pushkin Trust.<strong>The</strong> Authors’ and Editors’ Trip<strong>The</strong>se occasions which were organised with assistance from Foras na Gaeilgethrough the Irish Books Programme, gave the public an opportunity to findout about Irish language publishing and writing. <strong>The</strong>y gave an opportunity tothe publishers and also to the authors to present themselves to the public andpromote contacts.Events were organised in five particular areas in <strong>2009</strong> with various authorsand publishers. Among these events were an occasion with Andrew Whitson,Caitríona Hastings and Caitríona Nic Sheáin (An tSnáthaid Mhór) in theCultúrlann in Belfast and an occasion with Lochlainn Ó Tuairisc, Jackie MacDonncha and Micheál Ó Ruairc (Cló Iar-Chonnachta) in ManchesterUniversity.Publications / Compact Discs / Films<strong>The</strong> Irish Committee of the European Bureau: More Facts about Irish<strong>The</strong> Irish Committee of the European Bureau for Lesser-Used <strong>Language</strong>s(EBLUL) published the book More Facts about Irish by the author Helen ÓMurchú at the end of 2008. <strong>The</strong> Committee focused on distributing andselling the book widely during <strong>2009</strong>.Law (First Law) Publishing – Súil ar an DlíSúil ar an Dlí, edited by Elaine Fahey and Caroline Ní Chonchúir, waspublished in November <strong>2009</strong>. This is the first edition of the series, in whichthe latest cases and the legislation are discussed. It is a wonderful resourcefor those who deal with the law as the number of cases in Irish and thepractice of law through the medium of Irish has increased. It is also aresource for students.<strong>The</strong> other publications which were funded included:<strong>The</strong> Bold Little Fairy, Bushwell Publications – <strong>The</strong> Buzz Magazine, <strong>The</strong>Goethe Institute – Irish translations of Gunter Grass and Elke, <strong>The</strong> Shop – AMagizine of Poetry and other titles.Workshops for writersÁine Ní Ghlinn directed a writing scheme for primary and secondary schoolpupils during <strong>2009</strong>. Áine goes to seven or eight schools per year. She putssamples of the pupils’ work in a magazine which is distributed to the pupilsthemselves.
