Monthly Advisory Committee meetings will continue through spring and summerof 2008 in order to solicit additional input.EnvisionConnectIT staff and Decade Software trainers provided a two-day off-site EnvisionConnect “Train the Trainers”event. IT staff also presented daily training events for the Trainers and are reviewing theEnvisionConnect software to ensure that the software contains the elements necessary to capture workperformed by inspection staff. It is anticipated that the Department will convert to EnvisionConnect onMay 12.SPECIAL PROJECTS2008 Crumbine Award<strong>EMD</strong> recently applied for the 2008 Crumbine Award. The Award is a prestigious national award givenannually to a local environmental health jurisdiction who has demonstrated excellence and continualimprovement in a comprehensive food protection program. The purpose of the Award is to encourageimprovement and stimulate public interest in foodservice sanitation. EHD Chief John Rogers, EHDProgram Manager Alicia Enriquez, Supervising ES Zarha Ruiz, and ESs Sonia Lee, Debbie Katz andJannine Talusik served on the <strong>EMD</strong> Crumbine Award Committee which compiled and forwarded thenecessary information to meet the 2008 Crumbine Award Application Guidelines.Illegal Food VendorsSupervising ESs Kelly McCoy and Jeff Czapla and ES Mandip Singh joined Sacramento County CodeEnforcement in conducting a sweep for illegal vendors selling food in the Florin Mall area. Four cartswere impounded during the sweep.Illegal DumpingHMD investigated eight illegal dumping cases.
