He went away, and tookher with him, and reached home.Early as the morrow came he made ready to go to the hilltohunt; and the woman said to him, "You are going to-day, andthat fellow will meet you to-night again. He will play a gamewith you, and you will win, and take nothing but the steedhe has under him." He went away, and betook himself to thehill to hunt; and when he was coming home late, he saw a showercoming upon him from the west, as he did before; and that fellowalighted, for he had the steed with him. "Is this you, .son ofthe King of Ireland ?" " It is I," said the son of the King ofIreland. " Will you play a game with me to-night, son of theKing of Ireland ? " " I will," said the son of the King ofIreland ;" I would not be worthy of my people if I would notplay with you." <strong>The</strong> game was won by the son of the King ofIreland. " Take the reward of your play." " That is," said theson of the King of Ireland, " that I should have this steed." Hewent away home, and reached the house.Next day, he made ready to go to the hunting hill to meetother young nobles. <strong>The</strong> woman said to him, " You are goingto-day again ; but that man will meet you, and you willlose the game to-day ; and he will lay as charms upon you that* Description, reimrt, calumny.
