The Dirge is said to have been the response of Macrimmou's sweetheartto the " Cumha " or Lament.For the music of " Macrimmon's Lament, "next page, weare indebted to Mr. Colin Brown, editor of the Thistle. This air,one of the finest of our Highland melodies, is moi-e accurate andnatural as now noted than in the common sets.
