• Dr. Julie Anderson is an associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> nursing at the University <strong>of</strong> North Dakota.She has extensive experience in neonatal intensive care nursing, and her primary researchinterests center around skin and wound care. Anderson has authored or co-authored overforty articles and several book chapters on topics ranging from venous, arterial, andpressure ulcers, pressure mapping, support surfaces, maggots and honey as woundtreatments, and palliative wound care.• Dr. Susan Gennaro is dean and pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> the Connell School <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong> at BostonCollege. Her research focuses on the improvement <strong>of</strong> global perinatal health and theidentification <strong>of</strong> causes <strong>of</strong> preterm birth in minority women in the U.S. Her research hasbeen funded by the NIH for over 20 years and has also focused on improving nursingeducation through innovative programs to increase the number <strong>of</strong> minority nursescientists who are trained to work with vulnerable populations.• Dr. William L. Holzemer is pr<strong>of</strong>essor and dean at the Rutgers University College <strong>of</strong><strong>Nursing</strong>. His research examines quality <strong>of</strong> nursing education, quality <strong>of</strong> nursing care,outcomes research, variation in practice, self-care symptom management, and quality <strong>of</strong>life, with special emphasis on people living with and affected by HIV infection. Herecently completed an R01 research project supported by the NIH’s Fogarty InternationalCenter and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) on how stigmaand discrimination impacts quality <strong>of</strong> life for Africans living with HIV/AIDS and quality<strong>of</strong> work life for AIDS patient nurses.2
