Mounting the Drills 6 UNIVERSAL DRILLING HEAD 42/11 � � � � � � Grass Universal Drilling Head � Gear cover � Clamp bolt in the gear spindle for clamping the drills � Drills Ø 8 / 35 mm long / shaft Ø 10 mm � Clamp bolt in the gear spindle for clamping the drills must be removed if no drill is fitted � Check nut � Adjusting screw � Clamp surface on the drill � Pressing piece - Loosen the clamp bolt “3” with a 4 mm-hexagonal socket wrench - Insert a drill into the gear spindle, check the position of the clamp surface “8” - Tighten the clamp bolt “3” with a 4 mm hexagonal socket wrench - Repeat with the remaining drills - Clamp bolts in the spindle without drills must be removed, otherwise possible damage to the gear! � � � � The star in your cabinet
Adjusting the Depth of Borehole � Gear cover � Collar screw � Check nut � Adjusting screw UNIVERSAL DRILLING HEAD 42/11 - Loosen the check nut “12” with a 13 mm engineers’ wrench - Turn the adjusting screw “13” clockwise direction increases the depth of the borehole by 1.5 mm per turn - Measure the depth of the borehole XX, correct if necessary, otherwise tighten the check nut “12”. The depth of borehole XX can be taken from the Grass technical catalogue. If the check nut “12” cannot be loosed because of the gear cover “10”, then the gear cover “10” can be removed. All screws “11” must be removed to do this. Caution: It is not permitted to set the universal gear into operation without the gear cover – Danger of Injury! XX � � � � The star in your cabinet 7
