Isoxazole derivative synthesized by the reaction of (2Z)-3-[2-(4-chlorophenyl)-8-methyl imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-yl]-1-aryl prop-2-en-1-one and hydroxylamine hydrochloride in ethanol containing sodium hydroxide was refluxed for 11hrs,the product was isolated by pouring the alcoholic solution on to crushed ice, thenfiltered, dried it.PART-VI : SYNTHESIS OF (3-(2-(4-CHLOROPHENYL)-8-METHYL-1H- IMIDAZO[1,2-a]PYRIDINE-3-YL)OXIRANE-2-YL) ARYL METHANONE.Oxirane derivatives have been reported to possess various pharmacologicalactivities like antibacterial, antifungal etc. In order to achive better potency, we havesynthesized oxirane derivatives.CH 3NNClOORWhere,R=ArylOxirane or Epoxide derivatives synthesized by the reaction of (2Z)-3-[2-(4-chlorophenyl)-8-methyl imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-yl]-1-arylprop-2-en-1-one in mixtureof acetone and methanol with 8% aqueous sodium hydroxide followed by additionof 30% hydrogen peroxide, the solution was shaken and heated to the boiling pointfor 1h, then allowed to stand overnight at room temperature, then water was addedin the solution was extracted with ether.
