(Objective) [SRD ID 61102] 123A Broadcast Receive Suite – Terrestrial (BRS-T) shall becomprised of any GBS Receive Suite suitably modified toinclude the necessary transmit capability to support a wirelessterrestrial network extension of the broadcast to twenty or morenearby (within 5-miles distance line-of-sight) locations. [SRDID 61500] 160The wireless terrestrial network extension shall meet allrequired accreditations and certifications required to beimplemented as part of the GBS system . [SRD ID 61601] 160The wireless terrestrial network extension shall have 2-waycapability to, at a minimum, support “user pull” requests. [SRDID 61602] 12, 13, 160The wireless extension kit shall provide a web-basedmechanism that allows users to utilize system functionality viaa lightweight web browser application operating on handhelddevices connected to the wireless terrestrial extension network.[SRD ID 61701] 13, 160Req 123: The GMRS should incorporate all common receive suite requirements (Block-3Threshold).Req 160: A BRS-T shall be comprised of any GBS Receive Suite suitably modified to include thenecessary transmit capability to support a wireless terrestrial network extension of the broadcast totwenty or more nearby (greater than 5-miles distance line-of-sight) locations. For a given receivesuite this should include (Block-3 Threshold):(1) Terminal: a separate transmit terminal with a suitable interface to receive the broadcast repeatsignal from the RBM and transmit the signal with satisfactory performance; and(2) RBM: any RBM suitably modified to include the necessary software and hardware to generatethe broadcast extension signal.Req 160: A BRS-T shall be comprised of any GBS Receive Suite suitably modified to include thenecessary transmit capability to support a wireless terrestrial network extension of the broadcast totwenty or more nearby (greater than 5-miles distance line-of-sight) locations. For a given receivesuite this should include (Block-3 Threshold):(1) Terminal: a separate transmit terminal with a suitable interface to receive the broadcast repeatsignal from the RBM and transmit the signal with satisfactory performance; and(2) RBM: any RBM suitably modified to include the necessary software and hardware to generatethe broadcast extension signal.Req 12: The GBS system shall provide, through automated tools, the capability to fulfill “user pull”requests from authorized users and shall provide the means for users to identify specific ad-hocinformation needs. User pull requests shall be fulfilled on the broadcast through current or held forfuture broadcast coverage areas. “User pull” requests shall be capable of using receive suite attachednetwork connectivity or TRS RCS connectivity for automated information retrieval and broadcast(Block-2 Threshold). Req 13: A Transmit-Receive Suite (TRS) shall be capable of transmitting“user pull” data to GBS space segments with a Return Channel Satellite (RCS) having connectivityto DISN (Block-3 Threshold). Req 160: A BRS-T shall be comprised of any GBS Receive Suitesuitably modified to include the necessary transmit capability to support a wireless terrestrialnetwork extension of the broadcast to twenty or more nearby (greater than 5-miles distance line-ofsight)locations. For a given receive suite this should include (Block-3 Threshold):(1) Terminal: a separate transmit terminal with a suitable interface to receive the broadcast repeatsignal from the RBM and transmit the signal with satisfactory performance; and(2) RBM: any RBM suitably modified to include the necessary software and hardware to generatethe broadcast extension signal.Req 13: A Transmit-Receive Suite (TRS) shall be capable of transmitting “user pull” data to GBSspace segments with a Return Channel Satellite (RCS) having connectivity to DISN (Block-3Threshold). Req 160: A BRS-T shall be comprised of any GBS Receive Suite suitably modified toinclude the necessary transmit capability to support a wireless terrestrial network extension of thebroadcast to twenty or more nearby (greater than 5-miles distance line-of-sight) locations. For agiven receive suite this should include (Block-3 Threshold):(1) Terminal: a separate transmit terminal with a suitable interface to receive the broadcast repeatsignal from the RBM and transmit the signal with satisfactory performance; and(2) RBM: any RBM suitably modified to include the necessary software and hardware to generatethe broadcast extension signal.30 March 2009 • Contract Number: FA8726-09-C-0006Use or disclosure of data contained on this sheet is subject to the restriction on the title page of this proposalVolume VI-5.0-234
