The resin mortar contains unsaturated polyester filledwith minerals and anti-settle additives. The hardener, which is colour-coded, contains an organicperoxide. The cartridge is closed with copper clips. As standard, the cartridges are delivered withretainer caps which keep the inserted cartridges from sliding out of the drill hole.LOKSET SiS-CARTRIDGES are available in various setting times (20 s – 4 min), diameters andlengths.ProcessingA typical example for the application is giving for fixing a 22 mm diameter roof bolt of 2.4 mlength, a hole of 2.35 m length and 27 mm diameter is drilled. Several cartridges of 1,250 mmtotal length are inserted. In slightly fractured strata, 20 % more cartridges should be inserted. It isrecommended to use one fast set cartridge at the rock side end of the bolt. A bolt with - optionally- a chisel type tip shall be spun in with a roof bolting machine or, more conveniently, with a hydraulicrig. The thrust should be g.t. 10 kN, the moment of spin should be g.t. 100 Nm for a spinningrate of approx. 450 rpm and an advance rate of max. 4 m/min. It is recommended to continuespinning for a further five seconds after reaching the drill hole end.Risk and Safety phrases for handling LOKSET SiS-CARTRIDGESObserve the general safety regulations when handling chemicals.R10 Flammable. S23 Do not breathe gas/fumes. S24/25 Avoid contact with skin and eyes. S26 Incase of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. S27/28After contact with skin, take off immediately all contaminated clothing, and wash immediately withplenty of water and Soap. S29 Do not emty into drains. S36/37/39 Wear suitable protective clothing,gloves and eye/face protection.According to legislation on hazardous matters, the LOKSET SiS-CARTRIDGES are not subject tomarking regulations. PackagingLOKSET SiS-CARTRIDGES are available in different setting times, diameters and lengths. The productcode shows first the total setting time in minutes, the diameter and the length both in mm. Others only on requestStorage, shelf life: Over six months when stored in a dry place between 10 and 20 °C(50 - 70 °F). With time, especially at storage temperatures of > 25 °C, there might be a nonsubstantialloss in volume due to styrene migration which, however, does not affect the curingcharacteristic of the resin. Generally we advise not to store the cartridges longer than 3 monthsand above 25 °C. A supply in the height of the operational requirement for three days is possible ata temperature to 36 °C. Cartridges should not be exposed to sunlight, because it may diminishshelf life. Processing temperature of the cartridges should be above 15 °C. That is why we recommendto bring them underground or to a warm place before use, so that the cartridges can adaptthe required temperatureDisposal:Damaged LOKSET-SiS-cartridges shall be hardened by mixing the components. Cured mastic isneutral to the environment and can be disposed of as municipal waste (EU waste code 20 01 39„plastic waste“).
