Quantitative results, i.e. marks between 1 and 5 are being analysed regularly. Thisanalysis compares the best marks (1-2) with the worst marks (4-5) and also considersthe delta value, i.e. the difference between the two opposing value groups. The reasonfor taking the delta value into account is the fact that the most praised combination ofparameters may as well be among the most discussed or even the most disapproved of.As avoiding dissatisfaction is more important for a Public Service Broadcaster thanfancy design, combinations with even a few remarkably negative marks have to behandled very carefully.Clean Audio – general remarksHere, the plan has changed. During the first months of the project it turned out thatmore development work than had been envisaged is still needed to make Clean Audio amature access service. Please see Chapter 6 of Deliverable D3.2 for an overview,especially concerning IRT’s development work on Clean Audio in DTV4All. Therefore,Clean Audio is regarded as an emerging service in the project and dealt with in WP3.Still, RBB intends to take advantage of its user group recruited for the DVB subtitlefield test for testing Clean Audio on a larger scale than just a laboratory test. The idea isto provide those users in the group that are hard of hearing (about 25) with a DVDoffering different versions of Clean Audio for testing. Ideally, all the 25 hard of hearingpeople in this group will be involved. Preceding laboratory tests, however, will showwhether the clean audio services are suitable for all grades of hearing impairments.4.1.3 Red Bee (UK)The awareness campaign and evaluation involved interviews with a representativesample of adult television viewers in the UK. The study was carried out by GfK andwas funded by OFCOM. Red Bee and the BBC were involved in the preparation andtransmission of spots for the campaign itself.4.1.4 TVC (TV3)TVC has established a feedback service with users, both at association level and withindividuals, who write regularly offering their opinions regarding the service. Since2006 all comments and suggestions made by users has been entered providing, inretrospect, a valuable source of information.4.1.4.1 - ADThe aim of the test is to validate AD strategies and decisions concerning thorny issuesand dilemmas which are part of any script process of AD.The tests TVC shall take on board will have the following stages:1) Classification of thorny issues at two levels:2) From a technological point of view3) From a script creation point of view4) From the taxonomy of issues which will result from the previous point aquestionnaire will be drafted. This questionnaire will request feedback on theissues identified.5) Issues under analysis will be created in one or as many films as there are needed.Page 20
