Ivor isbased at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill and is now the TPD of all Surrey and Sussextrainees ST1-ST3.ARCPThe Annual Reviews of Competence Progression will be taking place from 11th to13th June. A panel will review trainees progression via eportfolio to ensure theyare meeting the required level of training to progress. This survey is to give <strong>KSS</strong> <strong>Deanery</strong> an insight into theteaching at each Trust and how trainees are finding the teaching they receive.The survey results have been circulated to each Trust and will be discussed at thenext committee meeting.P S WWe are in the process of updating our website to include a calendar detailing allPLEAT and Simulation days. We hope this makes it easier for trainees to view theevents and to make it more accessible to all. We will also be adding the Committeemeeting dates, ARCP meeting dates, & any Paediatrics dates you will need.There will also be a calendar on the main <strong>KSS</strong> <strong>Deanery</strong> page showing all the eventsfor all the Specialty schools.RThe <strong>KSS</strong> <strong>Deanery</strong> Paediatrics recruitment for ST1 took place on Thursday 16th February<strong>2012</strong>, there was good attendance of high caliber candidates and a 100% fillrate was achieved.

Dr.Lawson is committed to progressing simulation day training for our trainees as wellas overall training for doctors.MRCPCH T DSchool of Paediatrics MRCPCH PLEAT day - has been set up for <strong>KSS</strong> trainees atMaidstone Hospital on Friday 21st September <strong>2012</strong> and will be concerned with thePart 2 Clinical Exam. If you wish to attend this day, please contact our SpecialtyTraining team via email; specialtytraining@kssdeanery.ac.uk <strong>KSS</strong> Paediatrics traineesdo not have to pay as the cost is covered from Study leave budget topslice.Trust MRCPCH Teaching; Jonathan Rabbs and Garg Anil are running two MRCPCHteaching days for trainees. It is expected that there will be some standardisation ofthe scenarios, so there will be no obvious difference in the training at differentsites, as the latest mannequins and equipment will be utilised at all sites.
