5.2 Government Schemes<br />

Persons participating on the following Government Schemes will retain their entitlement<br />

to a <strong>Medical</strong> <strong>Card</strong> for the duration of the scheme:<br />

- Back to Work Allowance.<br />

- Back to Work Enterprise Allowance.<br />

- Back to Education Allowance .<br />

- Revenue Job Assist.<br />

- Community Employment.<br />

- VTOS.<br />

- Job Initiative.<br />

- Rural Social Scheme.<br />

- Education, Training and Development Option.<br />

- Community Services Programme.<br />

- Part-time Job Incentive.<br />

- Part-time Education Option.<br />

- FAS – (Non apprenticeship courses).<br />

- Youthreach.<br />

- Local Employment Services Courses.<br />

- Failte and Teagasc Courses.<br />

- Wage Subsidy Scheme.<br />

A person, who did not hold a <strong>Medical</strong> <strong>Card</strong> prior to commencing scheme but would<br />

have qualified if they had applied, should on application be granted a <strong>Medical</strong> <strong>Card</strong>,<br />

for the remainder of the scheme.<br />

Adult and Child dependants of person covered by the retention will also be granted a<br />

<strong>Medical</strong> <strong>Card</strong>.<br />
