4.4.3.5 Mortality and Hibernation
Mortality period is the time with no detected movement of the animal, after which a mortality
event is stored in memory and the collar enters mortality mode (depending on the model).
This is of course only done if the collar is capable of mortality events. Otherwise this time has
no effect.

If “Enable Hibernation Sensor” is checked, the activity sensor will be used for the hibernation
mode. In collars with firmware 2.8.4 or higher, a GPS fix will be taken once a day and send
according to the communication settings. In collars with older firmware, no attempts will be
made to get a GPS fix. This will extend the operating time of your collar if the tracked animal
goes into hibernation in a cave or similar. Wakeup is the level of activity, which stops the
hibernation mode and brings the collar back into normal operation. Hibernation Delay Time is
the time after that hibernation mode is entered if the activity is below the Wakeup Activity
Level.
4.4.3.6 VHF Beacon Pattern
This option allows you to change the sound pattern of the collars VHF beacon, if the collar is
equipped with a VHF beacon transmitter. You can choose from four different patterns. Listen
to the pattern by clicking on the speaker button.
