After clicking on Send you can view how many mails are being processed ('P') and how many are still queued ('Q') in the status bar. When a mail transmission has finished or terminated a log of the communication between GPS Plus ('→') and the SMTP server, ('←') will be added to the form (see Figure 18). If the email does not arrive at the given address, this log contains valuable information on where the problem might be. 3.1.8.3 Iridium Server Tab Sheet This service is only available for Value Added Resellers. For other VECTRONIC customers, data are forwarded as email by VECTRONIC Aerospace. This tab sheet contains information on incoming mail server used to receive position messages via email from the Iridium Service. Figure 19: Iridium tab sheet The Incoming Mail Server will only be active if the Mail Reception Subsystem is registered and Enable Iridium Email Reception is checked. Enable Iridium Email Reception: Activates the reception of emails sent by The Iridium Service; this is necessary to separately use GPS Plus and Iridium email reception. POP3 Host: Name of your POP3 Host which receives the Iridium emails in the field. POP3 Port: May be left blank since most POP3 Hosts use the default port (110); only few will use a different port. POP3 User ID and POP3 Password are used for the user identification and authentication. POP3 Password will display an asterisk for every character typed in it. If Delete read data messages from server is checked, every email will be removed from the POP3 email server after it has been read and stored. For other VECTRONIC customers, data are forwarded as email by VECTRONIC Aerospace. This tab sheet contains configuration data for the FTP connection to the server where the Globalstar data files are being delivered to. Figure 20: Globalstar tab sheet FTP Host: Enter the name of your Globalstar FTP server. You can either enter a host name or a IP address. Port: Enter the port of your Globalstar FTP server. If you do not enter anything the default will be used (21). FTP User ID: Enter the user name needed to access the Globalstar FTP server. FTP Password: Enter the password to your Globalstar FTP server user name. Delete read data files from server: If this option is checked, every file will be removed from the FTP server after it has been read and stored. Unidentified emails will also be removed. 3.1.8.5 Argos Tab Sheet This tab sheet contains configuration data for Argos data reception. Telnet Host: Enter the name of your Argos telnet server. You can either select one from the drop down list or enter a name manually. Telnet Port: Enter the port of your Argos telnet server. By default this should be 23 (telnet port). Argos Username: Enter the username needed to access the Argos telnet server. You can obtain this from Argos when you request an Argos account. Argos Password: Enter the password to your Argos telnet server username. You can obtain this from Argos when you request an Argos account. Store Argos positions: When selected, GPS Plus will not only store positions taken by the GPS module of Argos collars but also those positions determined by Argos itself. These positions are not as precise as the GPS positions but could provide valuable supplementary information. This design is the property of VECTRONIC Aerospace GmbH.
