No.: GPS Plus Collar Manager Date: 7.3.12 VECTRONIC Aerospace In this window, you need to associate an ID with the given number and, in case of a GSM message, select the GSM Mode of the collar; normally, a mode will be suggested together with a reason for this suggestion. You will not be able to leave this form until you entered a valid ID or identify the phone number to be not a collar. If you enter an ID that is already registered, you will be asked if you really want to substitute the old number with the new one. Be careful in doing so because this might mess up your data by combining data from two different collars into one data file. After an ID has been set it is stored and needs not to be entered again. 3.1.5 Convert all SMS to ZIP-files Figure 11: Convert SMS to ZIP files form Unlike older versions of GPS Plus that stored the SMS files in one folder, GPS Plus Version 2.7.0 or higher stores them in ZIP files, one ZIP file for each collar. This command converts the old structure to the new one. This command works completely autonomous. If you start it, a window opens up with a log field, a progress bar, and a Cancel button. The conversion process will be started immediately. You can stop it at any point without harm by clicking on the Cancel button; the conversion will just be stopped and no more SMS files will be moved into ZUP files. The conversion can be manually reversed by extracting the SMS files from the ZIP files with a program like Zip Genius or WinZip. This design is the property of VECTRONIC Aerospace GmbH. This information is stored in the collar list. To each collar it contains registration information, phone number and SMS coding scheme, Iridium IMEI, Argos ID, Globalstar ESN, Study Period, a position mailing address list, a mortality mailing address list, a mortality SMS phone number list, and a database connection (see Figure 12). You can add, edit, and erase a collar entry. You can also add registration information to an existing entry. By clicking on the column headers you can sort the list by the selected property as key. The first click sorts ascending, the next clicks toggle the sorting order between ascending and descending. The current sorting key and direction are displayed in the status bar. Empty values in the selected column will always be listed last. For identical values in the sorting key, the collar ID will be used as a secondary key. Figure 12: Collar List form To add a collar entry click on the Add Collar menu item in the Edit menu, the add collar button or simply by pressing the insert key (Ins) on your keyboard. A form will open up where you can enter your collars data (see Figure 13, left). To editing a collar entry click on the Edit Collar menu item in the Edit menu, the edit collar button or simply by pressing the enter key on your keyboard. The last choice will edit the active entry in the list. So if you select multiple entries the entry that selected last is chosen. A form will open up where you can edit your collars data (see Figure 13, right). To remove a collar entry click on the Remove Collar menu item in the Edit menu, the remove collar button or simply by pressing the delete key (Del) on your keyboard. If you select multiple entries, all selected will be removed. A dialog will open up for confirmation, listing all collar IDs that will be removed. To register a collar click on the Load Key File menu item in the Register menu or the load key button.
