First, the connection will be established and the user is authenticated. Then the program checks the number of emails currently available on this account. Now all emails are read one after the other. If an email has a subject containing the string ”Data for Collar” and it contains at least one attachment with a filename containing the string “Collar” and the extension ”SMS” then the file is stored in the SMS-subdirectory of the base data path. It will automatically be merged and exported if the appropriate options are checked (see 3.1.8.1 SMS Handling Tab Sheet). The program will also recognise multiple attachments. These will not be sent by GPS Plus but can be send manually provided they confirm with the rules described earlier. After all emails have been read, the command closes the connection again. It can be stopped at any time by pressing the Stop button. Pressing the Auto Read button changes the stop button from disabled Stop to enabled Stop and will start the reading of the configured email account. Different to Read Mail , this command will not stop after reading all emails. It will instead pause for the time defined in the options (see 3.1.8.10 Miscellaneous Tab Sheet) and then start over again. It can be stopped at any time by pressing the Stop button. If the Stop button is pressed, it changes to Stopping… and finishes the current process. Then it will stop reading mails. The stop button is disabled and changed to its initial look. It will show up when the first message is received. Every stored SMS file will then increment the entry in the received collars list or, if it is the first occurrence of this collar ID, will add the ID to the list. 3.1.2 Argos Reception This form allows retrieving data from a Argos Centre via a telnet connection. You got to have Argos configured to use this form properly (see 3.1.8.5 Argos Tab Sheet). The form consist of a main menu, a tool bar, a text area containing progress information, a Log area displaying the actual communication with the Argos centre, and a status bar. At start, only the Connect command is possible. All other commands are disabled. It connects to the Argos centre telnet server according to the configured options (see 3.1.8.5 Argos Tab Sheet). After a connection is established it automatically logs in with the configured username and password. If login is successful all other commands are enabled. It is not possible to close the form while you are connected. Disconnect logs off the telnet server and closes the connection. After that the form can be closed. It is not possible to close the form while you are connected with the Argos centre. Get data from selected collar retrieves the data of the selected collar (see toolbar: Collar ID) from the last ten days. This is the maximum period of time provided by the Argos centre. It does this with the Argos PRV command. You will see the incoming data in the lower Log area. The upper text area shows what GPS Plus is doing with this data. While getting data all commands are disabled. Get data from all listed collars retrieves the data of all listed collars (see toolbar: Collar ID) from the last ten days.
