No.: GPS Plus Collar Manager Date: 7.3.12 VECTRONIC Aerospace 5.1.7 Send GSM/Iridium Schedule 5.1.7.1 Send via GSM This command opens a form to select the receiving collars and the GSM schedule file (Figure 107). Select a collar from the Destination Collars list by checking the box at the left or double-clicking on the collar. You can also use All , None , and Toggle to select collars. Press Select to select a Schedule file (.GSF). The status line underneath the file name should now state Valid schedule, and will give you the number of rules in the schedule and the binary size of the schedule (max 109 bytes). After you have selected at least one collar and a valid schedule, Send will be enabled. It sends the selected schedule via SMS to the collar. Figure 107: Send GSM Schedule window when using a GSM modem The schedule will be received by the collar when it activates its GSM module. The received schedule is checked for transmission errors and then loaded into the collar and activated. You will not receive an acknowledgement, so check if the next SMS have been sent according to the new schedule; if not, resend the schedule. 5.1.7.2 Send via Iridium This command is similar to sending via GSM (see 5.1.7.1 Send via GSM). The only difference is that you select the collars by their ID and valid IMEI address instead of their phone numbers. Messages transmitted via Iridium are sent as emails to the iridium service centre, which forwards the data in the email to the appropriate transceiver. 5.1.8 Send Proximity Schedule This command is equivalent to 5.1.5 Send GPS Schedule. Doc. No.: GPS Plus Collar Manager Date: 7.3.12 VECTRONIC Aerospace 5.1.9 Clear GSM/Iridium Schedule This command clears the GSM/Iridium schedule. This is the only way of disabling the GSM/Iridium schedule. Select the receiving collars from a list similar to 5.1.7.1 Send GSM Schedule via GSM and 5.1.7.2 Send Iridium Schedule via Iridium. After successfully clearing the schedule, a success message is shown. 5.2 GPS Menu The GPS menu includes commands needed to process the measured position data received with the GSM modem. It is partly similar to the GPS menu in the Collar mode (see 4.2 GPS Menu). Figure 108: Main window with GPS menu (GPS Base Station mode) 5.2.1 Get SMS Messages This command can also be accessed via the toolbar symbol shown to the left. It allows you to interactively read SMS messages from the GSM modem received from GSM collars. The command will open a window for data reception ( Figure 109). Press Read SMS to start the data reception. Stop will change to Stop with two small arrows going round in a circle to indicate the activity (Figure 110). You can always stop reading by clicking on Stop . It will then change to Stopping… and the program will finish the processing of the current SMS memory.
