Doc. No.: GPS Plus Collar Manager Date: 7.3.12 VECTRONIC Aerospace 4.4.20 Coldstart GPS This command should only be used for diagnostics and outside of buildings with free access to the sky! A GPS cold start is performed immediately. This means that the RTC (Real Time Clock), the ephemerides and position are cleared. The result is stored in the position memory of the collar. The command is quite similar to the warmstart GPS command, but will need much longer for the first data set and even longer to get a position fix because the ephemerides data have to be acquired from the satellites again. The GPS Data window will be similar to Figure 99. 4.4.21 Monitor GPS This command should only be used for diagnostics and outside of buildings with free access to the sky! The GPS Data window (Figure 99) will be displayed immediately, but no command will be sent. The program will only listen for GPS data from the collar. This command can be used if the Coldstart or Warmstart window has been accidentally closed. 4.4.22 Restore Configuration This feature is not available for all collars. For collars that have been manufactured or refurbished at VECTRONIC Aerospace in the last years, a file containing the original configuration of the collar (no schedules) can be provided by VECTRONIC Aerospace on request only. Select the appropriate .CCF file from the Open File dialog and press Open . The file will be sent to the collar and the original configuration will be restored. Since all configurations can be changed with the Collar Configuration commands, you usually will not need this command. 4.4.23 Collar Firmware Update Under certain circumstances it might be necessary to update the firmware of your collar. You should not do this unless you experience problems with the current collar firmware or need a feature only available in a newer version than yours. In this case, get the appropriate file from VECTRONIC Aerospace. Then select the Firmware Upload command. Select the update file with Select File and start the upload. Version: Software Version Date: Release date of the software Flags: Internal flags needed for customer support on the link manager Voltage of the rechargeable battery. This is only relevant for the Link Manager 1. This system will not work at voltages below 2.5. At Voltages below 3 the link manager should be charged. The link lamp on the device will then blink red instead of green (see link manager manual). The Link Manager 2 (USB interface only), does not have an internal battery, so it will always return 3.30 V. Figure 101: Link manager telemetry window 4.4.25 Link Manager Firmware Update This command only works for Link Manager 2 (USB Stick style with two cables)! GPS Plus has included a firmware for Link Manager 2. Normally, GPS Plus detects if the Link Manager 2 has a firmware older than the running GPS Plus version at start-up and updates it automatically if necessary. This command allows you to trigger this update manually. If the Link Manager’s version is newer than your update file, GPS Plus will ask if you really want to downgrade.
