Videoconferenceorganisers will be connected to the portal using the WWW browser on theirworkstations, and carry out authentication in order to get through to the administrationsection. According to the planned number of tools, the same numberof mirrors is initiated, and the possible access restrictions entered, togetherwith the name of the file for the recording of mirror activities. The rules for therestriction of access must be entered prior to the creation of the mirror, usingAccess (IP), Access (users) and Users links.Only some of the videoconference tools for MBone are capable of recording.Copies are saved locally on the user’s workstation. Creating a central copy forall types of tools can be a very useful feature. We therefore created the reflectorin order for saving to be started/stopped through the portal, by sending theSIGUSER1/SIGUSER2 signal (Start recording and Stop recording). In case thatthe name of a file with a protocol (log) is entered, the system enables users tosave information concerning all activities carried out within the mirror, includingtime stamps.The videoconference portal and software for mirrors is running on miro.cesnet.czserver and it is primarily intended for use by Czech academic community.86 High-speed National Research Network and its New Applications 2002
