As mentioned elsewhere in this paper, itis currently impossible to accuratelymeasure renewable capacity installed todate, which means it is not possible tomeasure progress against these targets. However, it is unlikely that one particulartechnology will be relied upon to deliverthe entire target. A mix of technologies,6,200 Solar PVroof installations(10kW each)37 GWh=20 small hydroelectricityschemes(100kW each)4.8 Alongside the County-levelCommunity Strategy and Climate ChangeStrategy, Worcestershire's second LocalArea Agreement (LAA) was agreed in2008. The LAA sets out the priorities forthe County, including:To increase energy efficiency andincrease the proportion of energygenerated from renewablesources.each contributing to the overall targetlevel, is more realistic, and might beachieved through many combinations ofwind, hydro, solar and biomass power. One example of how the County's targetmight be met through a combination oftechnologies is indicated below:6 large windturbines(2MW each)+ + +10 GWh31 GWh155 GWh County renewable electricity target5 biomasspower plants(2MW each)77 GWhNote: Target relates to that contained in the Worcestershire Climate Change Strategy. In above examples, values have been rounded. See Appendix C for full details, assumptions and calculations.A number of indicators are included withinthe LAA to monitor progress towardsdelivery of the priorities. Indicator NI186considers "Per capita CO2 emissions inthe LA area".
