Firmware version 1.52BChanges to this release of the SymDec 16 plus 4 software applicable to firmwareversion 1.52B include:• Issues with units not streaming to GE Nav while communicating over theEthernet has been resolved. Previously, rebooting the unit cleared theproblem for a period of time although the problem reappeared in hours todays.• Issues with units rebooting randomly has been resolved.Firmware version 1.51EChanges to this release of the SymDec 16 plus 4 software applicable to firmwareversion 1.51E include:SymBrowser• New 4-up, 9-up, and 16-up, and full screen display mode options.• New SymBrowser functionality:• Double-click in the active window to go to full-screen.• Double-click or press the Esc key in full-screen to return to previous mode(live or playback).• Mixed playback and live mode video displayed simultaneously using playbackcontrols.• CPU resource warnings displayed at 70% usage.• Active window indicated with a bright green bounding box.Recording• New default recording resolution values. The new default recording resolutionis 2CIF at 5fps.Motion Grid• The Motion Grid feature has been updated to allow you to configure motiondetection faster. When the user enters motion grid, all grids now turn onautomatically. Previously, when the user entered the motion grid to configureSymDec 16 plus 4 Release Notes 3

motion detection, all grids were turned off by default and had to be manuallyturned on.KTD-405/IP PTZ• Enhanced remote PTZ functionality for Legend IP cameras.Network• Port address translation is now supported by the SymDec 16. TCP clients,such as GE Nav 2.0 or SymBrowser, can now be placed behind a NAT routerthat remaps the ports.UDP and TCP• Enhanced operating stability with multiple PC’s when opening and closingvideo streams.Additional features• Default Replay setting changed to 60 seconds.Upgrading the firmwareUse the Firmware Upgrade menu (under the System menu) to upgrade thefirmware from a USB flash drive.To upgrade the firmware:1. Insert a USB flash drive, with the flash upgrade file, into one of the USB ports.2. Navigate to the Upgrade Now command and press Enter.3. The SymDec unit will reboot when completed.Note: The flash upgrade file must be in the root directory of the flash drive.
