Omkring halvdelen af adressernevar forkerte. Hvis I har ændret email adresse,så send mig en email med den nye adresse.Jeg vil ringe til de medlemmer, som jeg ikkehar en korrekt email adresse på, hen ad vejen.Foruden email har jeg bemærket, at mangedanskere også bruger Skype til at telefonerepå fra Pc´er til andre Pc´er og til almindeligefasttråds telefoner. Siden jeg er begyndt atbruge Skype til alt, undtagen lokale samtaler,er min telefonregning bleven væsentligtmindre.Det koster ikke noget at telefonere mellem Pc´er med Skype. At ringe fra en PC til de flestefasttråds telefoner i Australien og Danmarkkoster kun ca. 1.7 Euro cents, eller ca. 3australske cents pr minut.Op til 5 kan tale sammen i en gruppesamtale. JuletræsfestWe are busy preparing our “Juletræsfest” Saturday the 9 th of December .We hope to see many regulars andnew members attending. This year we will not be having a Christmas Dinner, but an afternoon with the kids( big and small) dancing around the Christmas tree, face painting, games, ice blocks, lollies bags and a lotmore. Last FunctionMulticultural Festival at Roma Street ParklandsOnce more it was proven what can be achieved when a group of determined committeemembers and volunteers unite and work together.Everybody, dressed in red & white, big smiles in hot faces, cooking æbleskiver and hotdogs, talking with interested visitors and customers at Heimdal’s stall. “Everybody”wanted to know what those round things were made of and how to pronounceæbleskiver correctly.The stall, situated close to the entrance and the entertainment tent of dancing, wasvery popular and from 11-ish onwards the queues just never stopped.The æbleskiver were so popular that people happily waited around for the next panfulto be cooked! Approximately 4500 æbleskiver were made and sold. Nine pans wereconstantly cooking and so were the cooks! To say it was hot is an understatement.Starting at one end of the stall people bought hot dogs for mains and then æbleskiverfor dessert. Four hundred and thirty hog dogs “med det hele” were sold. Cold drinkswent like hot cakes.Walking around the park you could not avoid meeting someone eating a Danish hotdog or a serve of æbleskiver.Many volunteers had worked for days doing the shopping and other preparations.Saturday eggs were cracked, ingredients mixed, batter put in containers and coldstoredready for the big day, Sunday 15 th of October, 2006.Mountains of sausages were purchased, breadrolls cut, mustard and tomato saucepoured into bottles, cucumber salad was made.It is quite amazing the many hours people spent preparing everything for this event. Itis even more amazing that anyone had any strength left to take down the tent, pack upeverything, store, clean up etc. etc.But they did!The promotion of Heimdal and Denmark at this event is invaluable.What a day.Now we have to wait another year to do it all over again!In the meantime let us support our club at other events and functions as best we can.On the following pages are some photos from the day.YrsaPage 10www.danishclubbrisbane.org
