(03/2012) Page 4025.4 Group Life <strong>and</strong> Accidental Death <strong>and</strong> DismembermentThe Employer shall provide group life <strong>and</strong> accidental death <strong>and</strong> dismemberment plans in accordance withthe agreed-upon Group Life <strong>and</strong> Health Insurance Policy administered by the company's group benefitcarrier. The Employer shall pay one hundred percent (100%) of the premium on the minimum base <strong>and</strong>the employee shall pay the premium for any insurance over the minimum.25.5 Master Benefit Plans <strong>and</strong> PolicyA copy of the Group Life <strong>and</strong> Health Insurance Policy administered by the company's group benefitcarrier will be sent to the President of the Union.25.6 Change of CarrierThe Employer reserves the right to change the carrier of any of the benefit plans provided that the level ofbenefit coverage is not decreased. Notice of such change of carrier will be communicated to the Unionprior to change.ARTICLE 26 - WORK CLOTHING(a) The Employer shall provide <strong>and</strong> maintain the appropriate uniform or wearing apparel toemployees required to wear a uniform or st<strong>and</strong>ard form of apparel.(b) The Employer shall provide all wearing apparel, footwear, <strong>and</strong>/or protective clothing presentlyissued to employees <strong>and</strong> shall be responsible for the cleaning <strong>and</strong> maintenance of said items.(c) An employee who is in receipt of an issue of uniform/clothing will have replacement made whenhe/she surrenders unserviceable items previously issued.27.1 Equal PayARTICLE 27 - PAYMENT OF WAGES AND ALLOWANCESThe Employer shall not discriminate between male <strong>and</strong> female employees by employing a person of onesex for any work at a rate of pay that is less than the rate of pay at which a person of the other sex isemployed for similar or substantially similar work.27.2 Paydays(a) <strong>Employees</strong> shall be paid biweekly every second Friday. Casual employees shall receive theirpaycheque no later than four (4) weeks after they commence employment.(b) A comprehensive statement detailing all payments, allowances <strong>and</strong> deductions shall accompanythe paycheque for each pay period. All premiums <strong>and</strong> allowances payable shall be paid out no later thanfour (4) weeks from the date of earning them.(c) The Employer shall provide for the direct deposit (electronic funds transfer) of the employee'spay in a participating chartered bank, trust company or credit union of the employee's choice on orbefore the appropriate payday. Employee participation shall be compulsory except where access to afinancial institution with capability of accepting direct deposit is not available.(d) If the pay is not available on the payday, the Employer shall arrange for the employee to beprovided on the payday with an adequate advance on his/her salary.27.3 Rates of Pay(a) <strong>Employees</strong> shall be paid in accordance with the rates of pay negotiated by the parties to thisAgreement, subject to Article 27.7.
