(03/2012) Page 35(c) <strong>Employees</strong> who are representatives of the Committee shall not suffer any loss of basic pay for thetime spent attending a committee meeting, job site inspection or accident investigation in accordancewith WCB Regulations.(d) Other committee business in accordance with (d) above shall be scheduled during normalworking hours whenever practicable. When no other union designated committee member or uniondesignated employee is available, time spent by employees attending to this committee business ontheir days of rest or outside their regularly scheduled hours of work shall not be considered time workedbut such employees shall receive equivalent time off at straight-time.(e) Committee meetings shall be scheduled during normal working hours whenever practicable. Timespent by designated committee members attending meetings held on their days of rest or outside theirregularly scheduled hours of work shall not be considered time worked, but such committee membersshall receive equivalent time off at straight-time.22.3 Unsafe Work ConditionsNo employee shall be disciplined for refusal to work on assignment which, in the opinion of a safetycommittee member or steward, after an on-site inspection <strong>and</strong> following discussion with a representativeof the Employer, does not meet the st<strong>and</strong>ards established pursuant to the Workplace Safety <strong>and</strong> InsuranceBoard.Where an employee acts in compliance with Section 3.24 of WorkSafe<strong>BC</strong> Industrial Health <strong>and</strong> SafetyRegulations, he/she shall not be subject to disciplinary action.22.4 Injury Pay ProvisionAn employee who is injured on the job during working hours <strong>and</strong> is required to leave for treatment or issent home for such injury shall receive payment for the remainder of his/her shift without deduction fromshort-term disability leave or sick leave entitlement.22.5 Transportation of Accident VictimsTransportation to the nearest physician or hospital for employees requiring medical care as a result of anon-the-job accident shall be at the expense of the Employer. The Employer shall ensure that adequatearrangements are made for the employee to return to the job site, assembly point or current localaccommodation whichever is most appropriate to the employee's condition. Transportation will beprovided or paid by the Employer.22.6 Pollution ControlThe Employer <strong>and</strong> the Union agree to limit all forms of environmental pollution.22.7 Investigation of Accidents(a) Pursuant to Section 6 of WorkSafe<strong>BC</strong> Industrial Health <strong>and</strong> Safety Regulations, all accidentsshall be investigated jointly by at least one (1) representative designated by the <strong>BC</strong>GEU <strong>and</strong> one (1)management representative.(b) Reports shall be submitted on an accident investigation form which may be amended by mutualagreement <strong>and</strong> copies sent to:(1) WorkSafe<strong>BC</strong>(2) Occupational Health <strong>and</strong> Safety Committee
