The first two classeswill run from 6 to 9 p.m.,and the remainder of theclasses will be from 6 to 8p.m.The Parent Project is aparent training programdesigned for parents ofstrong-willed adolescents.Since 2003, nearly 250 parentsand their adolescentshave attended Parent Projectin Wood County.Topics include reducingfamily conflict and arguing,improving school performanceand attendance, identifyingand intervening withalcohol and other drugabuse, interceding with negativepeer associations(including inappropriate datingrelationships) and helpingparents to set clear, consistentrules with enforceableconsequences.Presented in an educationalformat, parents aretrained for a fee of $20 forthe accompanying 180-pageworkbook. Youth ages 12-18are invited to attend a separateclass at no additionalcost.
