Installation.(1) Position switch box (6) on fender (3).(2) Working underneath fender (3)insert fourscrews (4)with lockwashers (5)through fenderand into switch box (6) and tighten.(3) Attach power cables (1) to load terminals on generator sets (2). (Refer toTM 5-6115-584-12.)4-25. Switch Box Repair.WARNINGMake sure generator set circuit breakers are in OFF position before performingany repairs on switch box. Failure to observe this precaution may result ininjury or death by electrocution.a. Load Terminal and Terminal Board Replacement (See figure 4-10.) There are four loadterminals on the switch box terminal board. This procedure is typical for all four. When reconnectingwires, refer to the schematic inside the switch box (figure 4-7 or 4-8, as applicable) and to theidentification bands on the wires.(1) Removal(a)Remove 16 screws (1, figure 4-10), 16 Iockwashers (2) and 16 flat washers (3)securing cover (4) to switch box (5) and take cover off switch box.NOTEWhen disconnecting more than one wire, make sure wires are tagged toidentify the load terminal to which they attach before disconnecting wires.(b)(c)(d)Working inside switch box (5), remove nut (6) and Iockwasher (7) from terminal (8).Detach wire(s) (9) by sliding terminal lug(s) off stud.Remove Iockwasher (10), nut(11) and internal tooth Iockwasher (12) and pull terminal(8) off terminal board (13).Remove six screws (14), six Iockwashers (15), six flat washers 16) and six nuts (17)and take terminal board (13) and gasket (18) off switch box (5).(2) Installation.(a) Position gasket (18) and terminal board (13) on switch box (5) and fasten with sixscrews (14), six Iockwashers (15), six flat washers (16) and six nuts (17).(b) Insert terminal (8) through terminal board (13) and into switch box (5).(c) Install internal tooth Iockwasher (12) and nut(11) on terminal stud (8) and tightenagainst inside of terminal board (13).4-21
