Competitive tenders in sealed covers superscribing the tender details are invited fromcompetent parties for disposal of winding wire cut pieces and scrap welding cables (approximatequantity – 3 tonnes). The sale shall be on ‘as is where is’ basis.2 Tender documents can be obtained from the office of the Deputy Manager (GeneralStore), Cochin Shipyard Limited, Kochi-15, on specific request on payment of Rs. 500/-,inclusive of taxes, (Rs. 550/- by Speed Post). Tender documents will be issued between2.00 PM and 4.00 PM on 17 Aug 09 and 18 Aug 09. Tender document is not transferableand the cost of the same is not refundable. The Tender Notice is also published in CSLWebsite, www.cochinshipyard.com, and in Government Portal. Interested firms can download the tender document and submit their offers alongwith cost of the tender document inthe form of Demand Draft drawn in favuor of Cochin Shipyard Limited and payable at Kochi(Ernakulam).3. Bidders are free to inspect the items before submission of their offer, between2.00 PM and 4.00 PM on 17 Aug 09 and 18 Aug 09, with prior permission of the officerin charge.4. The bidders are requested to quote most competitive rate for the items as per the PriceFormat attached as Annexure-B. The bid in complete shall reach the office of theundersigned before 3.15 PM on 19 Aug 09, for which entry to Shipyard will berestricted from 2.00 PM on the day. The ‘Special Conditions’, ‘Instructions to Tenderers’and ‘Conditions of Sale’, forming part of the enquiry (Annexure-B, Annexure-C andAnnexure-D respectively) are to be signed and submitted alongwith the tender as a token of

acceptance of the same. The bids will be opened at 3.30 PM on 19 Aug 09 in the presenceof the bidders present.5. The bid shall accompany an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs. 50,000/- (RupeesFifty Thousand only). The EMD should be submitted in the form of Demand Draft drawn infavor of Cochin Shipyard Limited and payable at Kochi (Ernakulam). The successful biddershall remit a Security Deposit (SD) of Rs. 50,000/-, for which the EMD amount remitted willbe adjusted. The EMD/SD will not carry any interest and will be returned on satisfactoryperformance of the contract. Tenders without specified EMD will be summarily rejected.The Demand Drafts towards EMD submitted by the unsuccessful bidders shall bereleased immediately after opening, keeping the offer valid as prescribed6. Annexure-CINSTRUCTIONS TO TENDERERSTender Enquiry No. GS/DIS/67/09 dated 28 Jul 091. Quotations are to be submitted in sealed covers superscribing the tender details andshould be submitted within the last date and time specified in the tender document.2. Tenders shall be submitted in the Price Format forming part of the tender enquiry.3. If an individual submits the tender, it shall be signed and his full name and address shallbe given. In the event of the tender being submitted by a firm, it must be signedseparately by each partner thereof or in the event of absence of any partner, it must besigned on his behalf by a person holding a Power of Attorney authorizing him to do soand to bind the partner in all matters pertaining to the contract including the ArbitrationClause and such Power of Attorney to be produced with the tender and it must disclosethat the firm is duly registered under the Indian Partnership Act. If the tender is made bya Limited Company, it shall be signed by a duly authorized person, who shall produceevidence of such authorization with the tender. In the case of a Limited Company, thetender should be accompanied by the Memorandum and Articles of Association of theCompany.4. Tenders shall be accompanied by Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) prescribed in theTender Notice in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favor of Cochin Shipyard Limitedand payable at Kochi (Ernakulam). Amounts that are due or likely to be due from CSLwill not be adjusted against the EMD. EMD amount will not carry interest. In the caseof successful bidder, the EMD remitted will be adjusted towards Security Deposit (SD).The SD will be refunded on satisfactory performance of the contract without any interest.The Demand Drafts towards EMD submitted by the unsuccessful bidders shall bereleased immediately after opening, keeping the offer valid as prescribed.5. The tender shall be kept valid for a period of Sixty (60) days from the date of opening thebids.6. The tender shall be written legibly and free from erasing and over-writing. Suchcorrections/over-writing, if any, should be duly attested by the authorized signatory.Rates quoted should be written both in words and in figures.7. The contract shall be governed by the Indian Contract Act, 1872, and subsequentrevisions/amendments. All payments due from the bidder under the contract shall bemade in Indian currency.8. Tenders submitted without fulfilling the above and in contravention to the Tender Noticeare liable to be rejected.9.
