Many dogs and cats are still benefiting from the Pet Food Program.Dry dog and cat food is sent out to these four-legged companionsevery other Tuesday. 10 Years ofPurple, Green, & Gold<strong>Lubbock</strong> <strong>Meals</strong> on <strong>Wheels</strong> held the tenth annual Mardi Gras fundraiser on February 24th.We enjoyed a large crowd and a very successful event raising over $60,000. The guests weretreated to delicious food from 37 local restaurants, live jazz music by the Shinn TurnerDixieland Band featuring Hayley Burton, a large silent auction, and various other entertainmentincluding dancers, clowns, and jugglers. Younger guests had a great time on thespider climber, making crafts, or having their hair and faces painted in the children’s activityarea. The crowd, adorned in festive beads and masks, was greeted by the Mardi Gras Kingand Queen (Bryan Mudd and Terri Furman of KLBK) who reigned over the evening in regalattire.
