74 J?"ee <strong>Presbyterian</strong> Magazine.Collection for <strong>the</strong> Month.-By <strong>the</strong> Synod's appointment<strong>the</strong> Collection for <strong>the</strong> Fund <strong>of</strong> Aged and Infirm Ministers,Ministers' Widows and Orphans, is to be taken up during <strong>the</strong>month <strong>of</strong> <strong>June</strong>.The Church Courts.-By <strong>the</strong> time this issue is in <strong>the</strong> hands<strong>of</strong> most <strong>of</strong> our readers <strong>the</strong> Church Courts will have completed<strong>the</strong> most <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir business. As in former years we hope (D.V.)to give a brief review <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> proceedings in a later issue. Asour own Synod had only finished its business as we went topress we are unable to give even a short report <strong>of</strong> itsproceedings.Double July Number.-The Magazine for July will be adouble number (price, 6d.; post free, 7d.) which will contain afull report <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Synod proceedings toge<strong>the</strong>r with <strong>the</strong> variousreports presented to <strong>the</strong> Synod.Induction at Kames.-The Sou<strong>the</strong>rn Presbytery met atKames on Monday, 4th May, for <strong>the</strong> induction <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ~ev.James A. Tallach. An appropriate sermon was preached by <strong>the</strong>Rev. Neil Cameron from Rev. iii. 11-" Behold I come quickly:hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown."Theroo,fter Mr. Cameron gave a narrative <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> proceedings inconnection with <strong>the</strong> call to Mr. Tallach. The questions usually putto ministers at <strong>the</strong>ir induction to a pastoral charge were put to Mr.Tallaelt, ,md he having returned satisfactory answers to thn sameand having signed <strong>the</strong> formula in <strong>the</strong> presence <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> congregationwas inducted to <strong>the</strong> p.astoral charge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Free</strong> <strong>Presbyterian</strong>congregation <strong>of</strong> Kames. Mr. Tallach was <strong>the</strong>n suitably addressedby <strong>the</strong> Moderator, Rev. N. Cameron, and <strong>the</strong> congregation wereexhorted by <strong>the</strong> Rev. N. M.acintyre.
