That from this state <strong>of</strong> bondage and<strong>of</strong> subjection to <strong>the</strong> power <strong>of</strong> Satan, <strong>the</strong>y are deliverpd by <strong>the</strong>death <strong>of</strong> Christ. His death, by satisfying <strong>the</strong> justice <strong>of</strong> Uod,frees <strong>the</strong>m from <strong>the</strong> penalty <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> law; and freedom fronl <strong>the</strong>curse <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> law involves freedom from <strong>the</strong> power <strong>of</strong> Sal:\1lto inflict its penalty. "The strength <strong>of</strong> sin is <strong>the</strong> law" (1.Cor. xv. 56). What satisfies <strong>the</strong> law deprives sin <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> powerto subject us to <strong>the</strong> wrath <strong>of</strong> Goel. 'l'llUs redemption from <strong>the</strong>law, is redemption from <strong>the</strong> curse, and ('onsequently, redemptionfrom <strong>the</strong> power <strong>of</strong> Satan.Ill. In returning with songs, as redeemed from bondage andcaptivity <strong>the</strong>y express <strong>the</strong>ir joy by singing. The song <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>redeemed is, "Unto Him that loved us and washed us from oursins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests untoGod and His Fa<strong>the</strong>r, to Him be glory and dominion for everand ever. Amen" (Rev. i. 5, 6). In o<strong>the</strong>r words it is calleda new song for it is only <strong>the</strong> redeemed that can sing it. IV-II ilenatural men and women sing <strong>the</strong> vain songs <strong>of</strong> this world<strong>the</strong> redeemed sing <strong>the</strong> everlasting song. It is a song <strong>of</strong> victory,obtained through <strong>the</strong> blood <strong>of</strong> Christ. It is begun in time andwill be sung on Mount Zion above, throughout <strong>the</strong> endless ages<strong>of</strong> eternity. It is <strong>the</strong> song <strong>of</strong> love, and as Christ's love iseternal, <strong>the</strong> redeemed's song will also be eternal. It is ajoyous song through which <strong>the</strong>y express <strong>the</strong>ir joy for <strong>the</strong> greatdeliverance from <strong>the</strong> powers <strong>of</strong> sin and satan. It is tIle song<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> justified. They are justified by God who has pardoned<strong>the</strong>ir sins by laying <strong>the</strong>m on Christ. It is <strong>the</strong> song <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>righteous. Like <strong>the</strong> Apostle Paul <strong>the</strong>y say; "Not Imving myown righteousness which is by <strong>the</strong> law, but <strong>the</strong> righteousness<strong>of</strong> Christ which is through faith." They have no righteousnessto glory in but Christ's righteousness which is imputed to <strong>the</strong>m,and received by faith.It is a family song. 'l'hey are now heirs <strong>of</strong> God and join<strong>the</strong>irswith Christ. They have been received into <strong>the</strong> number
