To amend the Constitution, there must be a committeeformed of non-SBA members, who go through details thathave to be clarified about the changes. Then that Constitution amendment comes to the SBAboard, who can make changes. Then there will be a formal vote.o The committee would have to be called over the summer. ThePresident can call for a special election now. Payal said we can call the secretary positions whatever wecall them without violating it because those positions don’texist.o Lauren E- maybe these titles are confusing- who is theorganizational leader then, or is the community liaison a liaisonwith the undergrad?Lauren E wonders if Parliamentarian is less clear thanrecording secretary, and if community liaison is less clearthan corresponding secretary. Payal said we can change it in the Constitution too.o Regina has no problem changing the names, and doesn’t think it isautomatically unconstitutional, considering it isn’t a fundamentalchange to the Constitution, but is more of a name thing.o Lauren R:Reegy thinks we should say “pending the name change”when we allow people to run for the emergency election.1

o JP: Thinks we should be as formal as possible. His issue is that in delineating the roles of those positions,with class rep position, those are very easy to understand.But there is a foreseeable issue with someone trying tounderstand the difference between Rep at Large andCommunity Liaison.o Payal: Asks if it is ok to have an emergency election based on whatis in the constitution? Everyone says yes, we need those two positions for thebudget meetings.o Reegy: Is it the same as regular election procedure? Payal says yes, and it will likely be 2 days of voting. Wecan explicitly say the roles they need.4. Budget RequestsSPENT—reallocation request: Andreao Spent was allocated money for a service project they couldn’t complete becauseof BB. She is asking that the money be reallocated towards the end of the yeargathering at Jacky’s on Friday. The amount is $200.o It is the annual Yankees-Red Sox game event they have.o It starts a 7 pm on Friday at Jacky’s- open to the whole school.o The money goes towards food.o The food so far is appetizers for 30 people. With tax and tip it will beabout $80.o She is hoping for even more people to come to the event than 30 people.She will only buy what she needs from the $200- she wouldn’t spend allthe money if she doesn’t need it.o The event is appetizers, not drinks or food.o This isn’t a meeting, this is a fun event.o This event isn’t on their budget- she is asking for the money to beallocated. The reason they couldn’t do the Special Olympics event wasthat it was the same weekend as BB.o It’s more of an event than an end of the year thing.o Emmet motions to approve the reallocation of $200. Passes unanimously.4. Representative ReportsArthuro Parking meeting- Lot F should be done by mid semester Fall. But we will have the sameamount of parking before we started any construction because they are demolishing NikeHall and putting parking there.o We will not share H and I with all commuters next semester, because there is nodifference between us and other commuters.o A professor is having a word limit on people’s exam, which is on both the written andtyped exam. A person who is writing wouldn’t be able to know how many words theyhave used.o Jen says that she had him and he said to count each word.Jasono NothingJP2

o Water fountains:o Pressure of the water fountains is problematic.o Left elevator is getting stuck this past week.o They worked on them on Saturdayo Bank of America ATM:o There is one near the Business School.o Food Committee:o Met with Coryn: There will be a D&D next year in the new building, but it will be aconvenience D&D. Just coffee. There will be a Starbucks one in the Global Heritage Hall.o The survey should be extremely simplistic regarding changes: JP has basicquestions for the students. He would like some suggestions for the survey. Theyare revamping the bistro this summer pending our requests.o Lauren E recommended asking about healthy vending. Also, Coke vs. Pepsi.o Reegy wants to know if the survey should be open ended:JP said they want to know things that can actually be changed. They aregonna change the breakfast menu.Emmeto Internet is very bad.o Payal met with someone who came down to check it out.o She advised Payal to call based on Lucinda, who has been out.o Payal is concerned with the problem because everywhere is affected.o There is an issue regarding registering for classes and when people aretrying to use it in the library.o This could be a larger issue during finals when people have to upload theirexams.o Please bring up the 25 hr rule, which sucks.Lauren R.o NothingErnieo NothingTonyo Internet and heating is also crazy.o Water fountain in library is leaky.5. 8. Old BusinessCharity Evento Sorry for forgetting about the event last Friday.o This Friday, the event is 830 am. Speak to Pam.o The project is outdoor things like gardening and stuff like that.o There also may be an indoor event.Project Proposals Updateso Parking proposal:o The plan is set, there is no need for a proposal.o JP: There should be a proposal about the relationship between the law school and theundergrads. The undergrads want to be involved with the law school community. JPthinks we should try to increase the relationship between us and them.o Regina has been in contact with the incoming undergrad leader.Dinner Update: Time, Dress, Meeting Placeo Café Dolce Vita:o Van is not available.o Dinner is at 7, be there at 645. There is no valet. It is on Atwells in the little plaza.o Casual dinner dress- no suits.9. New BusinessArthur takes over-Projects to think about over Summero The most pressing issue is orientation, and we have to be there to staff the breakfast.-New Student Info Packeto Would like to have an informal welcome packet that has useful and helpful tips.Academic and non-academic things.o Things that they would feel dumb asking. We can just collect ideas.o There is interest in bring the Docket back for next year.o The Docket is a spoof school newspaper.o It started as a joke.o They have an adobe format.o Over the summer we will collect group names and budgets. There will be a budgetmeeting over the summer before orientation.o Pullman will be back August 21 st which is a Friday.o JP will be back around the same time.o Pullman will need to work on securing the softball tournament.o The Boat Cruise:o He is thinking of having a joint event with Brown medical school instead of BoatCruise.o It would maybe replace Boat Cruise.o Maybe we can do business cards as a fundraiser, and the Brown event would bean incentive for people to buy the business cards.o Arthur said the money would go into SBA general funds, which is the same fundwe pay the organizations out of. Reegy said we could also save it for a charityevent.o Constitutional committee will meet over email during the summer. He is thinking ofdoing an email vote with us to discuss the constitutional changes.o Jen asked if we can conference call over the summer, which is a free service.o Thursday and Friday this week will be nominations.o The door will be open in the SBA office for people to bring their books back.4
