CHAIRMAN’S MessageOn behalf of our faculty and staff, I welcome you to the Department of Chemical Engineeringat the Petroleum Institute. Thank you for your interest in our program. The Department of Chemical Engineering, one of The Petroleum Institute’s five keystoneprograms, provides a unique opportunity for young men and women to develop theknowledge and skills needed to pursue a rewarding and productive career in the chemicalindustries. The Petroleum Institute seeks to develop engineers with the complete range ofskills required to work and live effectively in the multicultural environment that pervades today’s global community. The program features a summer internship in industry which offers students significant exposure to the petroleumand chemical processing industries in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world. Our students can look forward to a rewarding education in the Department of Chemical Engineering. We strive toproduce professionals who can apply the broad range of engineering, team work and social skills necessary to excelin our rapidly evolving global environment. In addition to providing the skills required for the first few years aftergraduation, the program provides a sound technical background that engineering professionals can apply along theirpathway to life-long learning. The Department of Chemical Engineering is particularly proud of our highly qualified faculty and staff, who have awide-range of experience in academia and industry and diverse cultural backgrounds. With the key combination ofexcellent faculty, highly trained staff and state-of-the-art facilities, the program delivers a modern curriculum that isaccredited and well recognized. Our current students are dedicated individuals who are engaged in the classroomand are poised to be tomorrow’s leaders in ADNOC and other companies.Sincerely,Dr. Ali AlmansooriChair, Department of Chemical EngineeringChemical Engineering | The Petroleum Institute, Abu Dhabi, UAE1
